A Circular Economy Approach to Window Manufacturing
We work with profile systems manufactured using advanced circular economy principles. This means old uPVC windows are not treated as waste, but as a valuable resource.
Through specialist recycling processes:
- Old window frames are collected and separated into glass, metal, and PVC
- The PVC is cleaned, processed, and turned into high-quality recycled granulate
- Recycled material is reused in the core of new window profiles
This closed-loop system dramatically reduces the need for virgin plastic and lowers carbon emissions across the product lifecycle.
In fact, recycled PVC can save up to 88% of CO₂ emissions compared to producing new material, while maintaining the same durability, strength, and performance expected from modern double glazing systems
High-Performance Profiles with Recycled Content
Many of the window profiles used by Prior Products are manufactured using a co-extrusion process. This innovative method allows recycled PVC to be used in the non-visible internal core of the profile, while the outer surface remains pristine and weather-resistant.
Key sustainability benefits include:
- Between 40% and 75% recycled material in selected profiles
- Long product lifespan, reducing replacement frequency
Excellent thermal efficiency, helping homes reduce energy consumptionle.
Combined with modern double or triple glazing, these profiles can contribute to significant reductions in heat loss, supporting lower household energy bills and reduced carbon footprints over time

VEKA Recycling operates one of the largest specialist uPVC window recycling facilities in the UK, helping to:
- Prevent old frames from going to landfill
- Reprocess uPVC into new window-grade material
- Support the UK construction industry’s move towards net zero
