Composite Doors Continue to Grow

Posted: Wednesday, 18 April 2018 @ 15:49

A recent report by Palmer Market Research has suggested that the demand for composite doors will continue to grow for years to come. More than half of all doors fitted in the UK are composite, however this increases significantly if you exclude new build properties.

So why are composite doors considered to be better than other types of doors?

Composite doors are the latest type of door used in homes which have been designed to remove the common flaws inherent in other types of door due to the unavoidable effects of seasonal heat changes in doors made from a single material.

Reinforcing wood or uPVC doors can sometimes weaken the door, causing other problems, while another general issue is security.

One of the challenges is to keep your home secure without spending a small fortune on expensive additions which would otherwise leave your entrance doors vulnerable to potential attacks.

At Prior Products, near Stratford upon Avon, we offer composite doors because the freedom of using a combination of materials means that the old flaws in entrance doors have effectively been designed out, to create a whole new standard of door which is very attractive, strong and secure.

Composite back and front doors are able to withstand a higher level of force than most other doors as well as having a thermal core to provide further energy saving benefits. They have a high resistance to weathering and will not react to seasonal changes because the Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) skin prevents composite doors from warping during these changes which ensures the door will not stick or allow draughts.

Composite doors have a higher thermal resistance than wooden doors, with an attractive wood grain, but due to the materials used, they won’t fade, discolour or require any maintenance other than wiping with a damp cloth if they get dirty. They have a longer lifespan than most doors which increases the cost efficiency of the composite door while reducing its environmental impact.

In short, composite doors are exceptionally well-designed modern doors made from several materials and their superior quality sets a new high standard within the door industry.

If those benefits were not enough, at Prior Products we offer a 10 year insurance backed guarantee so we can’t let you down come what may.
