Bi Fold doors allow space into an office

Refurbished office space with Bi Fold doors as a great space saving door

The internal office space had a Bi Fold door installed last year which has not only allowed customers to see a fully working Bi Fold door but has helped with space. This has allowed us to use the White UPVC Lean-to Conservatory which has been transformed into a viewing room for a sample of our very own PVC windows and also profiles of our Crittall windows.

The White UPVC Victorian Conservatory holds a full stock of coloured brochures and demonstrates an Opal polycarbonate roof system.

The Edwardian Golden Oak Conservatory has a Bronze polycarbonate roof system and is decorated in a sun lounge theme, very popular with this type of conservatory.
We have a dinning theme in our Rosewood Gable Front Conservatory which is demonstrating the Clear glazed roof system and shows how versatile the space of a conservatory can be.

We can assist on all aspects of designing and building conservatory requests and have a sales team covering Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.

Triple Glazing with Energy Seal Windows

Windows are one of the most exposed parts of a house. According to the Energy Saving Trust, a staggering 26% of all domestic heat loss escapes through the windows. Installing energy-efficient windows is essential to help keep the cost of energy bills down.
With fuel bills increasing, energy savings become more and more important to the existing home owner and the Green Deal Government scheme due in 2013 will see the move to upgrade existing windows to A-rated windows as standard (1.4 U-value) and beyond.

Prior Products can now provide the REHAU triple glazed casement solution with the Energy seal, which uses our existing profile, triple glazing, and a foam layer to deliver a U-value of 0.9 and requires no specialist equipment to fit.
Letting in light was once the sole function of a window but no longer. Glazing is now expected to contribute towards the thermal properties of our homes and triple glazing outperforms the rest. Originally devised for the harsh winters of Canada and Scandinavian countries, triple glazing could reduce the heat loss through the windows by a third more than efficient double glazing, and the sound insulation is improved too. By 2016 new homes are intended to be zero carbon, so what are you waiting for?

How Does Triple Glazing Work?
It's the club sandwich of window design. While double glazing consists of two layers of glass with an air gap between them, triple glazing gives you three layers of glass and two air gaps. Just as with double glazing, the glass can be treated to make it more energy efficient, and the air gap can be filled with an inert gas such as argon, to help to reduce the heat loss.

Triple Glazed Unit
What Goes In The Gap?
Air gaps between the panes improve the thermal efficiency, but gas works better. Inert gases such as argon are used in our windows. Using gas improves the thermal performance.

Benefits of Triple Glazing
The thermal efficiency of triple glazed units ensures that cold spots are eliminated. Triple glazed units can also be optimized to deliver excellent thermal acoustic performance - minimizing noise levels from outside. Also the extra pane of glass ensures that your windows are less easy to break through giving you peace of mind when it comes to security.
• 70mm depth allows for the replacement of 3" timber frames with less trimming up
• Specially designed foam module to thermally enhance REHAU systems
• Quick to install "snap fit"
• Can be fitted onsite
• Easy to handle in 1 metre strips
• U-value of 0.9 achievable
• Argon glazing units
• Weather tested to 600Pa
• Security enhanced and approved to BS7950
• Patented Thermal Sleeve Option enables the achievement of a Certas A Rating using a double glazed unit
• Choice of finishes available include the popular REHAU White, Rosewood and Golden Oak wood effect laminated foil
• REHAU Acryl II Colour coating system available in 150 RAL colours

How do Prior Products achieve this?
Our new product uses proven off the shelf components and the popular REHAU S706 system with which our customers are already familiar. Add a triple glazed Argon filled 44mm sealed unit and a standard bead from the REHAU range, which has been used for many years with patio door panes, to neatly accommodate the glass without compromising the clear sightlines of the window.
Now add the really clever part, using our Energy Seal foam module which can be applied on site.
Energy Seal was developed in Germany using a moulded foam material which is easy to handle and dust free when cut and provides the additional thermal efficiency necessary for the window to achieve the 0.9 U-value. The foam simply slides into the lower section of the 52mm outer frame.

Energy seal in a double glazed unit

The open out casement window has been fully weather tested to 600Pa, has achieved security accreditation to BS7950 and is fully certified to the 0.9 U-value at the BRE standard window size of 1230mm x 1480mm. Argon units are sufficient to achieve the 0.9 U value, rather than the more expensive Krypton filled units, where it is estimated that the cost of a typical windows glass is up to 50% less using the REHAU solution.

There are no compromises to be made in terms of window aesthetics or sightlines, weather performance or security. It offers a very significant advantage to house builders and developers looking to meet energy efficiency regulations to domestic consumers who appreciate the benefits of triple glazing but without a significant price premium. Prior Products customers can now add a 0.9 U-value triple glazed window to their product portfolio to deliver this cost effective solution to both these market sectors. A number of window styles are available;
• Internally and externally glazed Casements Windows
• Bay & Bow Windows
• Tilt & Turn Windows

Date added: 07/02/2013 Green Deal. Energy Saving Double Glazing

Prior Products has registered through FENSA for The Green Deal.

Green Deal is the governments leading environment initiative allowing homeowners to finance a range of energy-saving home improvements, including the installation of energy – efficient windows and doors, through future savings on their energy bills. We hope this will provide another way in which homeowners can finance new energy-efficient windows. We also think that the Green Deal will improve awareness and understanding of energy-efficient home improvements.

Green Deal

More than half of UK homeowners are interested in installing double glazing, new research from the Energy Saving Trust has found – with that number predicted to rise under the Green Deal.

The exclusive Energy Saving Trust survey of over 2000 UK adults revealed that 22 per cent of householders have purchased double glazing in the last 12 months – with 52 per cent saying they are considering doing so. The figures also expose a north – south divide in the provision of upgraded windows – those in the North East are most likely to already have the double glazing (71 per cent), while those in London are least likely (49 per cent).

Energy Saving Trust is an independent, trusted organisation which is UKAS-accredited to approve Green Deal Installer certification at a fixed price. Energy Saving Trust is the only consumer – facing organisation providing Green Deal Installer certification, making it a recognised brand for consumers. Energy Saving Trust experts predict demand for green upgrades will be boosted by the Green Deal.

We will let you know as soon as we are able to give this amazing new initiative the Green light!

Date added: 25/01/2013 Saving you money on Fascia, Soffits and Guttering

Prior Products have invested in an Easi-Dec Roofline System which will reduce the cost of its customer’s fascia, soffit and guttering quotes due to no longer relying on costly scaffolding.

Fascia & soffits being installed
The Easi-Dec roofline system is designed to provide a safe working platform which allows access up to roofline level and can span most buildings overcoming obstructions such as porches and bay windows.

Its telescopic legs gives height adjustments every 30mm means it can be used on most properties ranging from bungalows to a two storey house and any uneven ground isn’t a concern due to each leg being independent and can be individually height adjusted. This system offers numerous benefits and is ready to overcome many kinds of challenging access situations.

The Roofline system can be erected in around 30minutes and can be lifted and shifted around a building with ease meaning that it is erected and removed the same day of the installation, a huge time saving advantage to traditional scaffolding which could be erected days in advance and possibly for days after the job has been completed.

fascia's easily reached using the Easi-dec system

• Cost effective alternative to scaffolding
• Quick and easy to construct
• Height adjustable in seconds
• Can cope with uneven or sloping ground
• Transportable so will be removed once job is completed.
