This week we have sent one of our fitting team to do a special requested manufacture and installation for a customer in Wiltshire. With our new range of eleven different coloured woodgrain effect PVCu double glazed windows, there really is something for everyone. Since starting to advertise in the Cheltenham area recently, we have been impressed with the response that we have had there. In the winter we get quite a few calls regarding condensation on windows. This seems to fall into two categories - people with ordinary double glazed PVCu windows and those with the new energy rated ones. However here the similarity ends.

Since receiving our BFRC accreditation a while back for our energy rated PVCu double glazing, we have been impressed with the feedback from our customers. All have told us of the change they have noticed to their homes. Quite apart from the fact that our windows look great, the amount of heat retention is very noticeable. Now that the country has finally warmed up albeit for a few days only, your conservatory will be used to its' full potential. In order to keep it cool, make maximum use of the opening windows and at night, remember that it is perfectly safe to leave them all on night latch position.

This is definately the time of year for us receiving many telephone calls regarding broken glass units in conservatories, French doors and patio doors. If you have a rotary lawn mower, there are several things that you can do to prevent this rather costly occurrance.
Bear in mind how fast a stone is flung after contact with a mower blade and even though all of these large glass units are toughened, the stone will still shatter the outer pane of glass. It is very rare for one to go through both.....

There are three types of roofing matierial when it comes to conservatories. These are glass, polycarbonate of tiles. We don not normally offer the latter as having a tiled roof rather detracts from the idea of a garden room or sun room!

When we fit our uPVC windows, doors and conservatories, we like them to perform correctly for years to come. Obviously there is a ten year warranty on these products, with the exception of glass which is five years against seal failure. If for any reason, a door lock or window handle fails, we will be happy to come out and replace it for you. As we only use top quality components though, this is quite a rare occurrance! At this time of year when the temperature drops away sharply at night and the nights are longer than the days, we have a number of calls regarding condensation on the outside of our uPVC double glazed windows.

At this time of year as the night time and daytime temperatures are wide apart, we get a number of calls concerning condensation on the outside of our A and C rated windows. This is a good thing to see as it means that the windows are functioning correctly.
The reason why the condensation occurs is due to the complete lack of inside heat being transferred from the inner to outer pane of glass. The condensation is the same as you would find on your car windscreen, and will clear as the day progr....

The time is fast approaching when all new window istallation will have to be energy rated. This is not only good for the environment but your bank balance also. At present there are not that many BFRC approved window manufacturers out there.
Happily, Prior Products is. We went through a lot to get our windows enegy rated and now offer a 'C' rated as standard and for a little extra these can be upgraded to an 'A' rated window. Put simply, these are the best that you can get for your house.....

When you have a window and door installation done by a builder or other general tradesman, the chances are very high that they will not be Fensa registered. They may do a good job, but if you decide to sell your house, and have no Fensa certificate for the windows and doors fitted, you won't be able to!
