Welcome to Prior Products blog

Tuesday December 15, 2009 at 2:47pm

Prior Products are happy to announce the arrival of our new blog! Here you will be able to find information on all aspects of our products, just as soon as we have had time to input them!

We are very happy to announce that we are now fully BFRC accredited and are the only manufacturer and installer of fully approved 'A' and 'C' rated energy efficient windows in Warwickshire. So, what does that mean to you?

Well, with consumer concerns about energy issues growing, we have been recieving more and more enquiries for energy rated windows. Latest figures show that only around 5% of fabricators manufacture their own energy rated windows. Prior Products have now had our windows tested and our manufacturing processes audited under the BFRC Window Energy Rating Scheme.

Orders recieved from 1st January for glazed windows will be 'C' rated as standard, AT NO EXTRA COST! For a small extra cost you can upgrade to 'A' rated. In order to conform to the terms of our BFRC license, unglazed windows will not be rated, but the frame specification will be exactly the same as rated windows.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A AND C RATED WINDOWS?

The frame specifications are exactly the same regardless of the rating and is the same as our existing high quality product. The difference is in the glass, as below.

C RATED: Float glass to outside, Planitherm Total glass to the inside. Aluminium spacer bar and Argon filled units.

A RATED: Diamant (low iron) glass to outside, Planitherm Total glass to inside. Swiss V Spacer. Argon filled.

Although doors are not covered by the BFRC scheme, our standard glass specification for doors will be as for C rated windows. Where A rated windows are required, we will apply the A rated glass specification to doors.
